About Me

Mary Kate Hubbard is from Newtown, CT. She attended the University of Connecticut and graduated in May 2013 with a BM in Vocal Performance. Mary Kate is currently a graduate student at the University of Bridgeport pursuing her Masters in Music Education. She is also an intern at Pomperaug High School.

Mary Kate is a classically trained Soprano who studies with Meredith Ziegler. While at UConn she performed with UConn Opera Theater in "The Crucible" as Sarah Goode, "Die Zauberfote," "The Grande Duchess", and "Candide." She also performed with UConn Opera Studio in "Les fables Enchantees," "The Fairy Queen" as Nymph 3, "The Beautiful Bridegroom" by Dan Shore as Madame Terentia (cover) and scenes from "The Mikado" as Yum Yum.  

After graduating, Mary Kate worked as a substitute teacher in the Newtown Public Schools district. She also worked at The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich, CT. At The Spirit of Broadway she understudied the lead role, Lizzie Curry, in "110 in the Shade." She also debuted the role of Witch 3 in the staged reading of "Benedict Arnold," a brand new musical.
